Dental Exams & Cleanings

Dental Exams & Cleanings

The Easy Path To Lifelong Oral Health

Proper oral hygiene involves not only healthy brushing and flossing habits at home, but also regular dental visits. Regular dental exams and cleanings are a low-effort yet essential part of keeping your smile healthy.

Checkups every six months allow just enough time for Dr. Singla to monitor any cavities, infection, or gum disease that might be brewing. Stop issues before they have a chance to start and give your smile the best chance at long-lasting health – schedule an appointment with our friendly dental team in Duncanville today!

How They Help Your Smile

Dental exams and cleanings help us to:

  • avoid or address cavities
  • detect signs of oral cancer
  • check for loose or lost restorations
  • stop infections
  • spot damaged or compromised teeth or enamel
  • remove hardened plaque or “calculus” from your teeth
  • prevent or treat gum disease (known as “periodontal disease”)

When Should You Start?

Children as young as one or two years old can and should come in for their first preventative care appointment.

Ideally, these appointments should be done every six months to keep up with the health of your smile. However, it is never too late to come in for an exam and cleaning, as we can help to establish the care that you need.

Our Dental Cleanings Process

Here’s what you can expect when visiting our dentist for a dental exam and cleaning:

  1. One of our hygienists will take x-rays of your teeth that will be useful in detecting problems.
  2. They clean, floss, and polish your teeth.
  3. They will check your gums for signs of inflammation and gum pocketing.
  4. Then Dr. Singla will come into the room and perform your thorough but gentle  exam.
  5. Dr. Singla will create a treatment plan that is specific to your dental needs and can schedule you to have this work done as needed.
